POLICIES & FAQ

  • ONLINE BOOKING

    One Whit Artistry offers online booking only. The card you put on file to hold your appointment is not used for prepayment, and is only charged at time of service or in the event of a no-show or cancellation that falls inside the listed 24-hour cancellation policy.

    To note before booking: For safety and client welfare reasons, One Whit Artistry does not accept waxing clients who are under the age of 12.

  • CANCELLATION

    One Whit Artistry has a 24-hour cancellation policy. When you cancel or move your appointment within that window, or if you fail to arrive for your scheduled appointment, the card you’ve put on file will be charged in the amount of 50% of your scheduled services. This is non-refundable and is not a deposit for any future appointments, should you choose to make any.

  • LATE ARRIVAL

    If you are 15+ minutes late for your scheduled appointment time, the card you’ve put on file will be charged in the amount of 50% of your scheduled services, and you will need to reschedule your appointment. This is non-refundable and is not a deposit for any future appointments.

    If you are 5-10 minutes late, we may be unable to complete all services as they are booked. In this case, you will only be charged for the services we are able to complete in your remaining appointment time.

  • MEDICATION CONFLICTS

    If you are scheduled to receive any type of facial hair removal, please discontinue use of all retinoids (including and especially tretinoin), glycolic acid, and topical steroids at least seven days prior to your appointment. If you are currently on Accutane (isotretinoin), or have discontinued use of Accutane within the last 12 months, waxing is not recommended and can be dangerous. One Whit Artistry is not responsible for any skin injury or lifting you may sustain due to usage of any of the above contraidicated medications and products.

  • SERVICE CONFLICTS

    If you have received injectable skincare of any kind (e.g., Botox, Dysport, or Juvederm), please wait at least 10 days post-procedure to schedule any facial waxing or tinting services.

    If you plan to receive a spray tan, please schedule your hair removal or tinting services for five days prior to your tan.

    If you have received a professional exfoliation service (e.g., microdermabrasion, glycolic peel), please wait two weeks before coming for any facial hair removal services.

  • ILLNESS

    One Whit Artistry asks that if you are exhibiting standard symptoms of common communicable illnesses (fever, cough, runny/stuffy nose, nausea), you reschedule your appointment.

    O.W.A.’s late cancellation fee will be waived in the case of illness. If you arrive to your appointment noticeably ill, One Whit Artistry will require rescheduling and in this case, your card on file will be charged the listed late cancellation fee.

  • PARKING + ENTRANCE

    Parking is available on Oronoco and Columbus streets. The lot behind the 500 N. Washington building is not public parking.

    One Whit Artistry’s entrance is in the back of the building, visible from Oronoco, sharing a yard with the red brick carriage house. Please knock on arrival, and note that if a client remains in the studio, I will be with you shortly.

  • ADDITIONAL GUESTS

    If you would like to bring a friend or need to bring your children to your appointment, you are welcome to do so. Please note that for safety reasons, children need to be confined to a carrier or stroller, or able to quietly occupy themselves for the duration of your appointment.

  • WEDDINGS

    One Whit Artistry does not offer wedding party or bridal makeup services. If you are an existing client and would like a recommendation for your special day, please email elizabeth@onewhitartistry.com.
